Third Little Weldy: Twenty-seven Weeks

So. Remember that whole, "We're pregnant!" announcement we did awhile back and then didn't elaborate at all? Well. We're still pregnant, still so very excited, but beginning to realize why I didn't get to take ballet lessons when my older sister's did…there isn't enough time in the day, you guys.

We aren't lacking in excitement about this kid though. If anything, we might even be more excited than we were with kid one or two. Not to sound like we're picking favorites, but with baby number one everything was new and overwhelming and holy cow we are having a baby! And then, round two, everything was different, a girl! How will Otto react? TWO kids! Now, we have an idea of what we are doing and can't wait to meet this new little person. His siblings are also adding to the fun, they are PUMPED to meet this guy! Baby's are so special, this one even more so because he's ours!

The Highlights:
How far along: 27 weeks
How big is baby: Almost two pounds, 14.5 inches.
Weight gain/loss: A lot. Like, a lot a lot. Doctor's appointment next week if you're interested in an exact number.
Maternity clothes: Yes. Although today I discovered that Chris' fuzzy sweat pants still fit. Good thing he's such a kind person, they have just been claimed by the pregnant lady.
Stretch marks: Why yes, but they are nothing new. Maybe we can make it to the end without any new additions?
Sleep: We've reached a completely new level of tired. I made hot tea this morning, but didn't realize there was a coffee k-cup already in the machine…the taste didn't even seem off to me. Sleep is sporadic, this little guy's siblings are taking turns needing to sleep with Mom and Dad, which is, ahem, fun.
Best Moment of the Week: The weather changed! No more sweating it out over silly things like preschool pickup!
Movement: He's getting stronger everyday! Last night he woke me up several times with his party dance moves.
Symptoms: Swelling in trying to take over. But watching my diet and having Chris encourage me to walk in the evenings is helping keep it in check.
Food Cravings: Cheese. It's tasty. Cabot's Extra Sharp Cheddar please. Side of avocado and cookie dough ice cream go with it nicely. Meredith and Otto are on to my 'special Mom snacks' though and will gladly help eat them…up until this point neither liked my choices.
Gender: Boy! Nameless, per usual Weldy naming trends. I did panic enough this week to have Chris break out the name books and spend some time paging through.
Labor Signs: Nerp. Braxton hicks are fun though.
Belly button in or out: Did it even go back in?? You can see it from outer space.
What I am Looking Forward too: Meeting this guy! He already seems to take after his Dad, don't invade his space by resting anything on the bump or expect him to do any moving in the mornings, not his thing. He's a little scared of Meredith, she accidentally kicked me in the ribs while I was helping her get dressed on morning last week and the poor little dude freaked! He ran all the way to the bottom of his little home as quickly as he could, and now when she's near and making noise he gets a little feisty.
Daddy: Keeps adding names to the list, calm as usual. He leaves the panicking to me.
Otto: So pumped about a new sibling. He refers to his little brother as 'his baby' and asks on a daily basis if today is the day his baby will be coming out. "Can we go to the hospital on Thursday and get my baby out?" We've starting planning the baby's space in our room, and Otto is a little distressed we won't be letting them share a room. Maybe when he starts sleeping though the night we'll talk. Heck, when Otto starts sleeping through the night we'll talk. This week Otto's name choice is E-k-d-r, pronounced Canaan.
Meri: Is most excited about the possibly of changing diapers. She has been practicing on anything and everything, including her older brother. They were playing happily together in her room, but it quickly escalated to Meri running down the hall towards the kitchen shouting, "Otto all clean! Need to wash my hands!" and Otto following close behind WEARING a diaper.  Pretty sure we need to enter that girl in hog tying competitions, I have no idea how she did it. Potty training for herself however, is slow going. I will say that the increase in bladder function caused by pregnancy correlates nicely with encouraging her to try.
