3 Years and 15 Months

Yesterday, we interrupted moving week for well baby check-ups at the pediatricians.

Otto was THRILLED to get to see Dr Elliot and was in rare form. He tried really hard to talk me into letting him wear this alligator 'hat' into the office. (It's an Easter basket that was unearthed while packing.)
Meredith was not so thrilled. We took this before we even saw the nurse or doctor, poor kid is not a fan.
While we waited Otto pretended he was the doctor and checked Meri and I over thoroughly for 'troubles' that he could 'rescue' us from.
Dr Elliot was very compassionate about Meredith's panic and had Otto go first. She watched from a safe difference away and was fine as long as the doctor didn't make eye contact with her. Otto did a great job for both the exam and for the finger prick to run a CBC. I just told him that he got to be just like Aunt Abbey, and he hopped right up in the chair and held his finger out to the lab tech. Didn't even flinch and thought it was great they were checking his blood.
Meri, on the other hand, was horrified about the entire process. Neither kid needed shots, and I was so grateful, but she had to be held down to check her ears. The right ear has a little pressure behind the ear drum, but nothing severe enough for a round of antibiotics. They are aware that we are moving this week, and said to just call if she develops a fever or shows any other signs that's it has turned into an infection. Fingers crossed that she doesn't have to deal with that AND the move:(

Poor girl was so traumatized, I had to put her in the Ergo and cover her head with the sunshield before she would calm down. Little baby ostrich with her head in the sand, I think she felt much safer in her hiding place.
After surviving their appointments, we stopped for Chick-fil-a. Meri was exhausted from the drama, so we went through the drive-thru. When the employee was handing me our order Otto started yelling from the backseat, "Mommy! It's Vector! Vector!" And the young guy, who really did look like Vector, heard him. Just a bit awkward that Otto thought he was the villain from Despicable Me, but the guy took it in stride and said that he normally gets referenced to Spock. I did tell him that Vector is one of Otto's favorite characters, but still, just a little funny.

When we got home Meri napped and Otto made a valiant attempt;)

Their stats just for my record keeping.

Weight: 37 pounds
Height: 39 1/4 inches
BMI: 16.8 BP: 88/38

Weight: 21 pounds and 4 ounces, 50% (staying on the same growth curve so I'm happy!)
Height: 32 3/8 inches 95% (She really shot up in this category, it must be all those green beans.)
Head: 18 1/2 inches
Meri also got two new teeth last week, both lower molars. She is now up to 11 teeth!
